By Amy CT · May 2, 2010 · 155 Comments · 818 Views

Happy Sunday everyone! I'm really excited to be able to launch BSB's first Keep Calm And Carry On giveaway today, to get you through the horrible, stressy month of May!

The first prizes have been kindly donated by the lovely people at Lush - and we have three of their lovely Relax, Take a Bath giftboxes to giveaway today.

For everyone with insomnia, stress, shift work or jet lag. The Relax, Take a Bath gift is a hint in a box; it respectfully requests that its recipient slow down. There's a Dreamtime Luxury Bath Melt to calm a stressed head and a relaxing, stress-reducing, violet scented Bathos Bubble Bar. Waving Not Drowning Ballistic throws you a life-line when it all seems too much. For workaholics, insomniacs and stress monkeys.

So, what do you have to do?

Leave a comment below, telling us what's stressing you out this month!

Don't forget to leave us your email address and name so we can contact you if you win.

Deadline and winner selection -

You have until 9th May to leave your answer.

Winners will be chosen at random.

The small print -

UK residents only. Sorry, but permanent BSB staff at the time of competition closing are not elligible to enter. If you omit your email address, or cannot be contacted upon winning, an alternate winner will be chosen in your place.

Good luck!

I am stressing out at the moment as I have to hand ALL my coursework this coming friday. This is around 70% of my grade. I also still do not know what my mark is for the music recital I did that at the time seemed ok but looking back was filled with mistakes. I also have exams starting on the 17th May that I have not started revicing for. I also have to put up with a mum who is doing her university degree so we are both stressing out like mad
PLEASE HELP

Oooo, what a fabulous giveaway!

The thing that's stressing me out the most is the General Election! I'm interning for an MP, to get her re-elected, so next week is going to be really really chaotic. I'm not expecting much sleep.
And then after that, the stressful thing will be finding a new job (my internship is until the Election)! I'm not enjoying filling in really long job applications!

The thing that's stressing me out most this month is my job. I'm a newly qualified Primary School teacher, and I'm in my induction year, which means I have extra paperwork and observations and things to contend with. I'm teaching in year 2, which means I have SATs tests to do for my class, starting on Tuesday of this week. We're getting moderated, because of me being newly qualified, which means all of my record keeping and assessment is going to get looked through by some woman from the LEA. We used to have 3 teachers in our year group, covering the 60 children between us, but one of them has quit her job last week, which means that instead of administering and marking SATs for 20 children, I have to do them for 30. Including individual reading tests, which take half an hour each to do. Plus, I still have all of my normal planning and assessment to do. And that's why Gemma is very, very stressed out!

Lush is one of my FAVORITE stores so I would love to try these products out! This is the most stressful month I've ever had, and here's why:

- My exams are really soon and it feels like they care more about memorisation than anything else so I am trying to memorise 20 pages of facts for each exam. Agh!
- I have to start planning my dissertation
- I have to apply for an internship for June that will affect/influence my dissertation
- I need to start looking for jobs so that after my Masters I'm not unemployed!
- I need to practise piano so I can get my performance diploma
- I have to find out where I can get a teaching certificate so I can teach music
- I need to start thinking about how to plan my wedding which is going to take place some time this year!

AHH!

At the end of May I am going to NYC. My first trip to NYC and I'm VERY (no words could cover how excited tbh) excited to be going, but I have so much work stuff to get done before I go.

I know the trip will be more than worth it the stress but having some Lush stuff to relax me would be even better!

Well BSB, what a wonderfully-timed giveaway! Here's my two-penceworth:
- As of today (May 2nd), my degree ends in fifteen days.
- I managed to do my dissertation (as awful as it was), but it still leaves me with a 4000 word essay, a 3000 word essay, a 15-minute presentation and a three-hour exam to contend with before I can consider myself free!
- I am due to start a new job just as soon as May is over, which doesn't leave me an awful lot of time to move back home and sort my post-uni life out. Plus, when I do make it back to the south I will be living out of boxes until I find somewhere more permanent to live, as my mother has just moved house and I have no furniture.
- I have a wisdom tooth coming through, it hurts like crazy, and I can't see a dentist until June.

I tried! x

I'm stressing over my future. I have exams (degree finals, perma-stress + doesn't everyone have deadlines?) but I'm scared that come May 13th I will no longer have to be in the library every day slogging my guts out. I have an interim job lined up and I've got travel plans but this is the first time in 17 years of education where I will have NO ACADEMIC PRESSURE. Woah, hai real life stress. What does one do when they're life plan suddenly stops. It's like a tentative rope bridge that galvanises with time and you know what's going to happen. I don't. My future is uncertain and that is both liberating and stressful at the very same time. Yikes!

I love Lush products! What a great idea for a give away!

Oh goodness! I second everybody's academic stress! I have to finish a 15k research proposal over the next two months, and then worry about finding funding so that I can actually complete said research. I am also training for a mini-marathon and orchestrating TWO moves within the next couple of months (I had to find alternative housing for the summer and then am moving again mid-August). Additionally, the new flat that I am moving into has a bathtub, but no shower (yikes!) These products would certainly help me make the best of that!

I don't have any academic stresses luckily, but I've got the stress of:
- meeting my boyfriend's parents for the first time tomorrow
- finishing my first novel and getting it off to the editor by the end of this week (I still have three chapters left to write)
- Dealing with over 150 children at work this week.
- Having my first life guarding shift since qualifying last month.
- and finally, having to single handedly train a new member of staff who speaks very little english, no french, and no german, while I speak no spanish. *dies*

And that's just in the next 7 days =/

I'm stressed out by having to see a nurse every single day to have the dressings changed from a couple of recent operations. Being signed off from work for over 5 weeks so far and with at least another 3 weeks until I can go back is also less than ideal! Oh, and yesterday my fiance was rushed to A&E in an ambulance with chest pains. So all pretty intense on the health front at the mo!

Oh where to start. in the last few weeks I've had a family bereavement which was obvious upsetting but even more stressful was my stupid cousins who were selfishly focused on themselves rather than there parents who had loss their mother etc!

Then at training i pulled my calf muscle which has meant i haven't been able to train properly for over two weeks which means I'm having to really worry about my diet as i've stopped losing weight due to the lack of exercise.

Finally were going through a restructure at work which mean I may lose my job (and I know im not alone in that stress) but I am also now in the middle of an investigation at work because I blew the whistle on a bully!

And go away and breathe!!!!

there are a few things stressing me out at the moment:
1. I'm a single mum to 3 kids (stressful enough) and raising them to the best of my ability without any help from anybody
2. i have recently moved to a new house after living in a refuge so i don't have all the things i want yet and am stressing about how to get them
3. i live in an area where i don't know many people so find it quite isolating which makes me feel very stressed, i love my children but sometimes adult conversation is needed
