Ready, Set, GO!

By Amy CT · May 1, 2011 · 5 Comments · 43 Views

After a month re-working the website, our systems, and everything we are, British Style Bloggers is proud to announce that we're back! A lot of the changes that we've made are subtle - you probably won't notice that much different about us at first glance, but when our new style posts start going up (from tomorrow!) we think that you'll agree with us that major improvements have been made.

We took on board your comments about the layout of the site, the community side-project, the ebooks (which we're saying goodbye to - for now, at least) and Blog of the Month. We want to thank you for your patience and for sticking by us!

We've also made it a lot easier for you to get involved. Our new-style columns, and saying good-bye to monthly themes, mean that you can write for us on any topic you like really easily - just fill out this form and look out for an email from us!

Getting involved doesn't have to mean writing, though! Don't forget to join the community and enter Blog of the Month!

And, finally, we're looking for a new member of staff - a Community and Blog of the Month curator. Interested? The details are HERE.

We hope you like what you see - and we can't wait to get everything running properly again, as soon as possible!

Love,

x the BSB team

The New Face Of BSB

By Amy CT · August 24, 2010 · 1 Comment · 69 Views

Many congratulations to Rachel Phipps of 'Cause I'd Rather Waste My Life Pretending, who designed the above style sheet for the British Style Bloggers Logo Competition!

Having completely forgotten about it during the meet up last weekend, the staff all voted via email, and Rachel's cute, chic designs which incorporated the BSB colours won.

We'll be working with them over the coming days to help us completely redesign the site, and we can't wait for you to see it! We'll also be recoding all of the badges to allow you to choose to have one of Rachel's designs on your blog - don't forget that with the new registration system, you have to hunt the codes out for yourself! :)

We'll be contacting the other winners shortly to let them know, and details will all be passed on to CocoRose London who are kindly providing the prizes - many thanks to them!

So - what do you think of our lovely new logos?

COMPETITION - Design BSB's New Logo

By Amy CT · July 7, 2010 · 4 Comments · 159 Views

As most people will now know, British Style Bloggers is growing up, and this summer we will be a whole year old... to celebrate, we're trying to redesign and streamline the site, by creating new graphics and a new community section.

So, to celebrate, we'd like you to help design us our brand new logo.

Although we love the logo we currently have, designed for us by the lovely Claire Napier a very long time ago, growing up is growing up - and who better to help us come up with a new design than our fabulous readers?

So, what do I have to do?

Come up with a brand new logo for British Style Bloggers!

It must follow the below criteria, however:

- must be square (and at least 500 pixels by 500 pixels)

- must be in keeping with what we're about!

- must have legal attribution for all particulates (as in, please don't steal someone else's work and use it or incorporate it!)

- must be absolutely fabulous!

Then, just email it to amy@britishstylebloggers.org.uk before August 16th!

Can I get any extra points at all?

If you're feeling especially creative, you could always design a new header, too; 900 pixels wide. It won't count for extra, officially, but it might draw our eye to your design for a little longer!

What do I win?

Obviously, we will use the design you submit, and you'll be added to the "Staff" listing as the official BSB logo designer.

The overall winner will also get a pair of Coco Rose London shoes - with second prize receiving a £20 Coco Rose voucher and third prize receiving a £10 voucher.

How will it be judged?

All designs will be printed off and taken to the BSB Birthday Meet Up, where members will choose the deserving winner and two runners up.

TERMS AND CONDITIONS

This competition is open to UK residents only. You must be willing to legally allow British Style Bloggers full rights to all work submitted, which will, of course, be fully referenced. BSB is not liable for any delays incurred in the reception of prizes.

Questions?

Ask away! Otherwise, good luck!

Email Server Changes

By Amy CT · June 2, 2010 · 2 Comments · 25 Views

Hello everyone!

Just a quick message about our new email servers - as some of you many know, we've been having major problems with them of late, and have therefore transferred to Gmail servers for ease of datat sharing.

You can still contact us using the old contact forms, and by emailing our BSB email addresses, but please don't be alarmed if emails from [someone].britishstyle@gmail.com turn up in your account - they're 100% genuine, we promise!

Thank you for your patience in dealing with this matter!

Potential BSB Meet-up Discussion

By Amy CT · April 26, 2010 · 6 Comments · 92 Views

In August, British Style Bloggers will be a year old, and we'd really like to do something big to celebrate. One of the ideas we're playing with is to have a meet-up sometime in late August where we can, well, meet up?

It's a bit of a logistical nightmare, and we've worked out that in about a month's time train tickets will be at their cheapest, so we don't have long to get out act together!

So, we've created a survey to find out what you think, and we'd love it if you could click HERE to complete it!

Since the survey launched, we've found some more location ideas, and so it would ber really helpful if you coudl also vote on the poll below for which city you'd prefer to head to!

If you have anything else to say, comment this and we'll have a bit of a natter about it...

Thanks, and looking forward to (maybe) meeting you all,

LoveLoveLove

I'd like the meet-up to be in...
